Did you hear about the Russian missle test in the Pacific today?

Just found it online. Russia test-fired a missle,which landed in the equtorial Pacific.

Today, Oct.6th,is the last day to register to vote. There are many very important decisions facing us,locally and nationally. Every vote matters.
On a lesser note, I've loaded a picture of the lake we stayed at in Wisconsin. Pretty
sky at sunset.
back from vacation

Had a great time in Illinois and Wisconsin,with a quick stop in Seattle. Went to a high
school reunion(don't ask). we managed to squeeze in a Cubs game at Wrigley. Wow!
Cubs were down 6-2 with 2 outs and nobody on in the bottom of the 9th. Cubs won
7-6 in 12 !! And the fans went crazy!! Two days later,they clinched,so that was all good.
Then on to northern wisconsin,where we stayed at a family friends cottage on a lake.
No phone,no tv,no internet for 3 days. It was fantastic. As soon as I figure out how to load pictures, I'll put some up.

I don't think Rex will survive the week,since Lingle came out and said he should go. And he shoud leave. It's very poor judgement on his part to use the state computers for
questionable emails and porn. And with the economy down,we need an effective
tourism leader,not someone fighting to keep his (high-paying) job.
building permits

Silly me. When I saw the city Department of Planning and Permitting advertises
itself as a "one-stop" shop to get your building permit,I actually thought I could go in with my plans and get a permit in a relatively short time. You would think I'd have learned by now that NOTHING the city does is simple and easy. All I want to do is replace
my old rusted garage roof and put some storage space on it. That makes things
complicated. Not quite sure why but you can't argue with the city. Well, you can,but you
won't win.
So now I'm 2 months into the process and I STILL don't have the permit. God bless the bureaucracy because no one else will
9/11 anniversary

I was working the morning of the 9/11 attacks and broke the news to most of Hawaii.
And yet,seven years later,the people responsible for that attack are still free men,hanging out in the mountains of Pakistan. Iraq had nothing to do with the attacks. Saddam Hussein had nothing to do with the attacks. Iran had nothing to do with the attacks. George Bush was warned that Al Queda was going to attack us. George didn't care then and he doesn't care now.
